People will often say that they don’t know what to say to a Jehovah’s Witness, or a Mormon, etc. They imagine it is necessary to have studied the cults for years and read every book going out there. It is important, however, to understand what we believe, and how to share what we believe, more than anything else. There is also the question of how you might round off a good discussion with a simple presentation of the gospel, something they can take away, remember, think and pray about. Here is where the long-established ‘Four Spiritual laws’ come in. Simple and to the point, they are easy to remember, simple to understand, and easy to present:
It is a truly simple message but with profound implications. The danger is in seeing their complex system of study books, priesthoods, levels of knowledge, degrees of involvement, and falling for the lie that ‘it can’t be that simple.’ But it is, and if you are a Christian it is by seeing God’s love in Christ, confessing your sin to him, receiving him as you Saviour and Lord and giving your loyalty and devotion to him, and him alone. That’s how you came, that’s how I came, that’s how we all come. Why would we not share it in its simplicity and power?
